Es überwindet den Nachteil, dass die Vorspannung unter dem Gruppenankersystem zu konzentriert ist und die Anker in beide Richtungen groß sind. Der Flachanker sorgt für eine gleichmäßigere und vernünftigere Spannungsverteilung, wodurch die Dicke der Struktur weiter reduziert werden kann.
